How about that!?!

I'm on my way to an interview. Sort of scary. I'm not really in a hurry to get a job before the beginning of the year, but if it's the right one I guess it will happen, right? It's scary to leave a relatively cushy job where I make great money and have great benefits, but I think once that same job starts making you miserable, it's just time to make some changes in your life, right?

Home is doing better so now I gotta work on the "career" end of my life. I'm tired of being unhappy and working for a moron. SO THERE! Wish me luck!

do you ever just feel totally helpless and alone? I just so hate that feeling. I hate not having anyone to talk to. I hate that I can't just have life exactly the way I want it. I'm thinking about becoming an alcoholic. Is that totally rude? I am just enjoying the feeling of vodka right now. Shouldn't I be able to enjoy something? Shouldn't I have one thing in my life that feels good right now? I'm not doing very good. I guess this isn't the place to be honest right now.

Blah Blah Blah

I haven't posted cuz I'm a little worried about posting from work. I had a weird thing happen while using the net at work with some Google security problems, was contacted by the IT people, and now I'm concerned they might keep an eye on me or something. Nick, is that something they do?

I have a little suggestion for you all... DON'T USE RESERVES IN YOUR EBAY AUCTIONS!!!! Reserves SUCK and PISS ME OFF and they are RUDE and STUPID.

I needed to get that off of my chest.

I sold my bedding set for $150! I now have a second one of a different type on there and already doubled my money. Of course, no one has actually PAID me yet! haha The only bummer about not getting a quick paypal pmt is I was hoping to use the money to finance some Doc Martens I just bought. Ah well.

It'a slmost time for the Nascar race from Darlington now. Everybody cross your fingers for Jimmie to win this race! DAMN IT! I said CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!!!!!!

Cool Things

First Cool Thing: eBay rocks. I love when I find things to sell and people buy them. hehe Right now I'm selling some bedding that I got at 75% off earlier in the year for about $36-40. It's currently going for about $82. I like it! YEA! I need Christmas money! I'm also selling a couple of little wedding favor things left over from my wedding stuff. I wish I had lots more to sell... wishes wishes

Second Cool Thing: I was making sure that one of my Credit Cards I'd recntly paid off had a zero balance and decided to check out the points balance even though I'd only transferred balances and not used it for more than a couple bucks here and there and I had 3500 points! yea! They gave me points for the balance transfer the silly rabbits! So I turned it in for a $25 restaurant gift card. That cheered me up.

Third Cool Thing: We had a safety evacuation drill thingy at work (courtesy of yours truly) so the big boss (yeah, the jerk) said we could all wear jeans today. How nice to be casual =)

Fourth Cool Thing: Mr. San Diego got home a little early last night and did some housekeeping (read: picked up and rearranged boxes of toys and crap to make room to walk). It was really nice to come home and feel somewhat less stressed by mess.

I guess those things make up for my sucky ass morning at home.

I've been neglecting my audio reviews lately. I guess not many were outstanding, but I gotta share this with you. That is that I am addicted to the Janet Evanovich Series about Stephanie Plum, Bounty hunter. These include: One For the Money, Two for the Dough, Three to get Deadly, Four to Score, High Five, Hot Six and Seven Up. I have Hard Eight on audio ready to listen to when I finish my current story. I am obsessed with these books. I listened to one, Four, but the rest I have read and I mean voraciously. I finished Hot Six on Friday morning and borrowed Eight on audio from the library and started reading Seven Up that same day. I LOVE THESE BOOKS! I know I had mentioned them before, but I just want to recommend them for a light hearted read that will keep you cracking up! But, you gotta start with the first one. I'm sort of anal that way.

Anyway, for Audio, last month I listened to Four to Score, which was probably the raciest of the Plum novels, and which I liked, but not as much as the rest. Five was my favorite. LIstening to sexy stuff while I'm driving just makes me uncomfortable! haha

I also listened to a book called Cold Case by Stephen White. I'd never read him before and apparently this is one of a series of books with the same chracters, a husband who is a psychologist and his wfe who is an Asst DA. This one involved them becoming a part of a team of professionals who study "Cold" cases and attempt to solve them. It wasn't a bad story. I think the narrator of it didn't do that great of a job and perhaps it would have been better if I'd read it myself. He was a little slow, but I also think the write went into a bit too much detail and made the book longer than it had to be. I listened to the whole thing and liked it alright, but I doubt I'll be reading any others from this series.

Before that, I can't remember the last book I listened to, so maybe that was the only two for October since I did vacation and all.

I give the Evanovich an 8 and Cold Case a 5.

Monday already?

The weekend went by way too fast. I think I'm fighting off being sick and today I even slept in until 8! Which means I didn't get to work until 10! But, I think I needed the rest even though I napped most of yesterday. Definitely fighting the sickies... hopefully I'll be successful and stay healthy.

More later.

My Job Sucks
(but on the other hand...)

I had a big fight with my boss today. My Job Sucks. I'm so mad and, I guess, hurt too. He's so stupidly stubborn. By that I mean that he gets stupid ideas in his head based on who knows what and once it's in his head, he doens't hear anything anyone says... even when he's wrong. It's a source of frustration to just about everyone.

Today's fiasco was a cross between some stupid ass idea he must have come up with, the fact that today was the first I've heard of said idea even though we've been discussing this situation since FEBRUARY, and the fact that I feel his decision is a slap in my face, inappriopriate, and flat out WRONG.
So, fuck him.

Immediately following our arguement was the supervisory meeting which I ditched and spent in my office with the door closed reading Hot Six. HA! That would be... the other hand. I had a leisurely day of reading, getting a pedicure, and surfing the internet for mailboxes, scales and things to do in LA. Sorry to my fellow taxpayers who paid for this day of leisure, but suck it up. Now I'm off for the next three days.. so here I go!

People Searching

SO I thought I was pretty net savvy and would be able to find whomever I wanted to using the internet, but unfortunately, everything out there that does any type of People Searching won't give up address or telephone numbers without you PAYING! What's up with that? Does anyone know of a FREE address look up out there? I suppose it's likely that the person is unlisted. That would probably account for that, but grrr... it's annoying. I looked for a couple of people and the same results: GIMME MONEY. Phooey.

All of this election stuff is winding down. I'm so pleased. Not that it will stop all of the crazy political screamers... you know who you are! ha ha But it sure will be nice not to have to hear/watch anymore "Dump the Dumb Dump" commercials! YEA!

Television Hell

The horror... It's terrible! The new season of the OC has been moved into the same time slot as Survivor! What am I to do? I only watch four shows seriously: Sex in the City (now over), Six Feet Under(off season currently), Survivor, and The OC! How could they do this to me? I seriously think Tivo is my near future.

The Big Halloween Treat

Like everyone, I love Halloween. Last year when we moved into our home, we were excited to get the trick or treaters and we had loaded ourselves up with Candy, HotWheels, Books, etc. Mr. San Diego hung out Witchcicle lights out front and we were READY. Wellll, finally around 8:30, some parent drove into our driveway and the child ran up to trick or treat at our door. That was the big experince. Yea! This year we pretty much figured it was a no go so we didn't buy a bunch of candy, we didn't get our lights hung being out of town and all and we settled in to watch the tube. Lo and Behold, the doorbell rang! At first we looked at each other confused as to who would be dropping by unannounced like that and then it occurred to us... TRICK OR TREATERS! I jumped up and we mobilized operation emergency candy bag. It all went well.

We had TWICE AS MANY TRICK OR TREATERS this year! WOOT!

Hee Hee Hee
This made me laugh today:

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning and mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit... Repairmen refused to work in the house... The maid quit... finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out and, eventually, even the local realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely, and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back...

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth...But only if she were to sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood smirking as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home......including the curtain rods.
