WOW

My picture finally went away! I can't believe that it stayed up there for two years after we closed the account that it was hosted on. I guess I'll have to take some time and get a new pic up there one of these days. Not now, though... way too lazy.

What's new!?! I'm going to make a concerted effort here that I must post at least once per week. I'd like it to be more, but time seems to get away from me. Today was my day off and I went to the beach! It was great. I haven't done that in soooo long and I only live like less than 30 minutes from the beach! So I spent a couple of hours just reading and sunning. I missed a couple of spots with the sun screen, though! So, my white body has a couple of red spots!

So, here is a cool thing. My brother and family are moving to California from North Carolina. In fact, his wife and kids will actually be out here about August 5th! I am very happy that I'll get to see them more often. It's tough being so far away from the kids as I want to watch them grow, you know! They are my surrogate children since I won't be having any of my own! They won't be down the street or anything, but still two hours away is much better than across the country! YEA!

I have a doctor's appt on the 2nd with the doctor who will be performing my gall bladder surgery and then I will HOPEFULLY have a better idea when this will be taking place. It's so hard for me to understand that the whole world does not revolve around me and my schedule! heh

Does anyone else out there watch Tripping the Rift? If so, what did you think about Six's voice being done by Carmen Electra instead of Gina Gershon, who did the voie last season? I like Gina better, but that could just be because I'm more used to that voice. I THINK I like her better because she has a more mature sexy voice instead of a little girly sexy voice, but again, it could just be what I'm used to vs. what I'm not used to. Interesting that Terry Farrell (Dax) did the voice at some point... I THINK it might have been in the original short film, which seems odd, but who knows. Maybe I'll bother to figure out who did what voice when and maybe I jsut don't care!

Enough blithering for now, I gotta get in a game of Sherlock before bed. 'Night!

What's New?

Well, we've been attending ComicCon all week... I'm a little tired, but had an amazing meal tonight at the Gaslamp Strip Club... ever heard of BBQ your own steak at a restaurant? Heh It's an interesting concept and another awesome Cohn Restaurant.

Work has been hell... I'm handing out disciplinary action left and right... some of that dealing with Internet abuse so I've really got to mind my own Ps & Qs when it comes to net use. I also understand that our IT folks are using some new tracking software (which I am availing myself the use of for my bad kids) so it makes any type of blogging or much else tough to do. Maybe SOMEONE out there can give me some details about if I should worry or not. Hm? But, it's okay because I really do have my hands full at work just trying to get my work done. I had to let my assistant go for not cutting the mustartd and terrible attendance, etc. It's a bummer 'cause I really did like her (still do!) and she had a lot of potential, but whatcha gonna do? I can't deal with not being able to count on my right hand person. So, I'm real busy.

Oh, did I leave out the REALLY good news? I have to have surgery! Why? because I'm fat! I probably needed this surgery since at least February, but finally followed up (after the problem got worse) and I have the Gall Bladder thing. It totally sucks. I guess the thing that bugs me is that Gall Bladder problems usually happen to overweight people, right? Okay, I KNOW I'm overweight, but it's just this confirmation of my unhealthy self. HOWEVER, I have lost 15 pounds in the last two months. Okay, it isn't my goal of 10 pounds per month, but not too shabby. Especially because I really haven't being doing so good at the whole dieting thing lately. Too many parties occurring! Damn Summer!

Our Annual 4th party went great. Had a great time, but I worked myself pretty hard and I think I need to be a LITTLE more organized... I was pretty wiped out by the prep and just doing the whole thing. Plus we spent over a month just trying to get things done around the house. We did put in a cool little stone patio in our backyard and we went to Mexico and bought some giant pots that I planted Bouganvillea in. It will take time for it to grow big but WOW, I am so impressed how well the plants are doing. The first week all the leaves fell off and they looked dead... I was panicking because I commonly have a black thumb and I was afraid that these lovely plants would be history. But, three weeks later they are lush and look great! No flowers, but leaves galore!!! YEA!

Okay, I'm blithering.... too much to say after so long an absence. I'll try to get back on here a little sooner next time.

xo
